There is no economic crisis... There is a totally new society on it's way at dazzling speed!
We live in the early days of the 4th wave in the development of human society. The first 3 waves were caused by the 'invention' of language, writing and printing. All three waves created a totally new society. It was
language that created the agricultural society; before that we were just nomads.
Writing enabled law, kingdoms, the worlds great religions, trade and money.
Printing opened the doors of education and science and within a few hundred years the industrial revolution, democracy and private enterprises changed our society for ever.
The actual 4th wave is that of
digitization, which is actually a new language that embeds writing and printing, not only of words but of audio and video as well. Moreover, it connects people, organizations and information at the speed of light. This new society, let's call it 'Society 4.0', is completely different and is changing every aspect of our lives, our work, our organizations, our society and our economy. Things that were quite expensive in the past - printing, knowledge, education and communication in example - are suddenly cheap or even free. High speed connections enable global competition that makes a lot of goods cheap as well and redivide labor all over the earth.
And we are only at the very beginning of this fundamental change of our global society...
Knowledge is not enough in times of hectic change. Knowledge is ripened experience from the past and how important it may be, knowledge can not learn us what is good for our future. What we need is wisdom, practical wisdom. Wisdom is ripened insight for the future... And wisdom is as top sport: intensive and daily training is needed to get it.
